The Weapons Want a War

White Plume Mountain is a trophy hunt. Three toys with names. A wizard’s funhouse. Traps, weird rooms, a mountain that exists to dare you. Most tables treat it as a Saturday. Get Wave, Whelm, and Blackrazor. Leave. Put them on the sheet. Become louder.

ACKS does not let named steel sit quietly.

Those are not pluses. They are political objects. A sentient blade is a henchman with opinions. A weapon people have already heard of is a rumor you carry in the open. Walk into a domain with Blackrazor and you are not a visitor. You are a succession crisis with feet. The mountain was the easy part. The market cannot price this. The neighboring lord can.

5E loves signature items because they are character identity. ACKS treats them as inventory that can wreck a map. Encumbrance was about coin. This is encumbrance of reputation. You hauled a legend out of a hole. Now the legend has errands.

You can run S2 as a funhouse and stop there. It is a good funhouse.

Just do not pretend the crate’s economy ends at the exit. If the gold is the plot, a named weapon is a plot that follows you home and starts interviewing your friends.
